A true hidden gem on the road down to San Diego (or on the way back). Korean restaurant in an outdoor shopping mall so plenty of parking. Right off the highway. Great meal set for $28. Come with rice, bonchan (side dishes), tofu soup and meat. We upgraded to Kalbi for $5. The banchan was the real surprise, lots of variety including a fried eggplant. Not just spicy pickled veggies. More Kalbi than expected. Also had the cold noodle soup, so good for 100 degree day. Crisp and refreshing. Great service. Great presentation. Just a solid Korean meal without all the fanfare (no big grills or over complicated menus. Fyi, they add a 10% service fee on food.

I visit this place almost once a week. The environment is clean and the staff are very friendly. The food is also excellent. Especially Banchin is more delicious than any Korean restaurant in Korea. I tried a salad made with cilantro and tomatoes here for the first time. Even if it's a separate item rather than a side dish, I would still order it. The signature dish of "sotbap" makes me gain weight. I like daily menus and buckwheat noodles, and I also like soft tofu and yukgyejang. I would recommend it to everyone.

I was in the area for a yelp event nearby and saw that this was close on my bookmarks. They have a sister branch in Buena Park. They opened recently near Pan Dumping House with a good parking lot size. I was seated quickly, they have a kiosk on each table along with a pot of hot barley tea and water bottle served quickly. I order their bbq ssam ($28.99) which is bulgogi and soondubu with banchan. I chose the seafood soondubu which has baby shrimp, mussel, and clam. Egg is $1 extra. For banchan, they had fried eggplants, sliced radish with wasabi, ssamjang, radish kimchi, stir-fried tofu, and a cilantro, onion, and tomato salad. The pork bulgogi was served on a hot cast iron plate and the rice was in a hot pot. The bulgogi was tender and not too spicy. The ssamjang has sunflower seeds and walnuts (?) in it; it's not as salty as other restaurants, goes well with the bulgogi. A little cup of sikhye (sweet rice) was served with the receipt. 10% service charge is added automatically. The staff is nice and the place is clean.
